Creativity Flywheel Course

A simple framework for making creativity effortless.

"I guess I'm just not creative."

Those words actually came out of my mouth. I used to think that because I wasn't able to just pull something completely original out of thin air, I must not have the creative gene.

It was years before I realized that everything is a remix. Once I understood that creativity was a system, it freed me to do my best creative work.

I went from not thinking I could create to creating a ton of content on a regular basis:

  • Researching and recording a new podcast episode every week
  • Writing an original blog post every other week
  • Creating a new video course every single month

At one point, it dawned on me that I was incredibly creative, just not the way I assumed it would be.

So I started to ponder: what allowed me to create so consistently?

The answer? A framework I call The Creativity Flywheel.

In this video course, I walk you through the five components of this simple system for creativity that will help make sure that you never run out of ideas again and allow you to make more out of the ideas you already have.

Whether you are an aspiring creator who isn't sure if you have what it takes or you simply want to bring a little more life to your current knowledge work, this course will help you dial in your creative systems so that ideation and creativity become effortless.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who wishes they could be a little more creative in their personal or professional life. While this course emphasizes sensemaking and writing as part of the personal knowledge management process, anyone who does what they consider to be "knowledge work" can benefit from tuning up their creative systems.
I don't consider myself to be creative. Is this course still going to help me?
Absolutely! I used to think I wasn't creative either. However, I learned that creativity is a system and that each system has three components: an input, a process, and an output. This course is designed to help recognize what better inputs look like and optimize your creative process, which will naturally improve the quality of the output.
Do I have to be a writer to benefit from this course?
No, although I do think writing is an important piece of the sensemaking puzzle. Your writing doesn't have to be public, but I believe the act of writing out your thoughts is what crystallizes them and helps you really understand what you think about a topic. So, in this course, I help you identify the tools you're going to use at each stage of The Creativity Flywheel, which includes an output that will likely be text-based.
Do I have to use a fancy app like Obsidian for this?
No, you don't. I mention Obsidian in the course because that's what I use for all my writing projects, but the focus here is on understanding the creative process and helping you choose the right tools for your won Creativity Flywheel. The course itself is app-agnostic, and you can use any app you like for any part of the framework. But you will be asked to write as a form of sensemaking.
